​West Johnston High School Dance

The West Johnston High School Dance Team  and members represent West Johnston High School.  Team members promote school spirit through Dance at school functions and throughout the local community and state.  The West Johnston Dance Team is a performance dance team. Each team member is a spirit leader and a representative for the art of Dance.  Team members are to have an understanding of dance technique, and are required to master multiple dance styles and routines.  Dance students will be exposed to teaching, practice, and performance opportunities that will result in the development of responsibility, self-respect, team work, and pride.  The team will encourage students to develop an honest effort in striving for excellence by emphasizing and maintaining a high standard of quality performance and physical fitness.

Dance Team try-outs are held annually in May.  Practices begin in mid-end of July and continue throughout the year.  The West Johnston Dance team performs at all home football games, community events, parades, the fine arts musical and sometimes competition.  The dance team is funded by the dance team parent association and opportunities are given based on funds raised.   If you are interested in donating to the team, please contact the booster president, or visit our ways to give page!
